Internet Business Ideas

These are a few new internet business ideas that I won’t be trying, but I hope that someone will.

The first comes from people’s frustration with technologies like e-book formatters. They don’t want to spend hundreds for the software, and even when they do, they have trouble learning to use it.

The answer? A service-based company that creates personalized e-books for individuals. Customers can even submit a photo and story of each family member or friend to have a customized photo scrapbook created. No matter the purpose of the book, the goal is to make it easily accessible for the customer to download once it is complete.

For a period of one year or longer, you can choose to host the material on your website, with a designated download link that is only accessible to the customer. The customer can then share or distribute the content to others as they wish, whether it be giving it away, selling it, or any other method. Another potential opportunity could involve creating the first e-book version of a high school yearbook (which may already be completed by the time you are reading this).

New Internet Search Engine Ideas

As you may be aware, Google and other major search engines tend to favor older websites as part of their search algorithms. While this is generally seen as a smart move, it can also lead to excellent websites on a certain subject being extremely difficult to locate. Another reason for this could be a lack of incoming links, which is also a crucial aspect of search algorithms.

A solution is a search engine that prioritizes new websites. It might even drop sites from the results once they are six months old, or perhaps always display those older sites on the bottom half of the page. The top results would always be the most relevant sites that are also the newest. This isn’t meant to be better than existing search engines, but to serve a niche they don’t serve.

You could say something like:

“Our platform offers a solution by placing emphasis on newly established websites in its search algorithm. Older sites may eventually be removed from the results, and the platform may consistently display these older sites on the lower half of the page. The top results will always feature the most pertinent and current sites. Our goal is not to compete with existing search engines, but to cater to a specific audience that may not be served by them”.

What makes this idea a viable business venture? One reason is its unique approach compared to other search engines, which would garner attention and utilization. Furthermore, it fulfills the desire of many individuals to regularly discover new websites on topics such as “dogs,” “backpacking,” “money-making,” and “baby names.” Additionally, website owners waiting to be indexed on Google would likely be frequent visitors, searching for their own sites.

A separate search engine for shopping is on my wish list. It would be convenient to search for “leather coat” and receive brief but detailed descriptions of different leather jackets, along with their prices and essential details, instead of a list of websites that simply use the keywords or have good optimization. With effective execution, a search for “I want to buy a fishing pole” would only yield results for fishing poles.

It could be a paid-inclusion search engine. The user just wants to buy something without the usual information sites in the results or “Buy leather on eBay!” advertisements. Results could be randomly presented to start, with the ones getting clicks rising to the top of the results. This would be a democratic placement similar to Google’s ads but with enough information to make it more meaningful than five to ten-word sales pitches.

Can these new ideas work? Only time will tell, but I hope someone tries. In the meantime, I will continue writing articles like this to bring traffic to my sites. It has been the most profitable internet business idea I have executed thus far.
